The 2007 live-action movie, which was a spoof on Disney animated princess musicals, was a big hit. It tells the tale of a fish-out-of-the-water story of a cartoon princess, Giselle, who is suddenly submerged in modern-day in the big city of New York.
The musical-romance movie was narrated by the iconic Julie Andrews and ended up grossing over 340 million dollars worldwide. It was also nominated for three Oscars in the Best Song category for Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz’s tunes; Happy Working Song, So Close, and That’s How You Know.
As for the upcoming sequel, Bailey didn’t provide many details, but Adam Shankman is said to direct, but there has been no word on who will be penning the songs.
