Portugal and Juventus football player Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for coronavirus.
The rest of the Portuguese National team tested negative and will play against Sweden. The PFF confirmed in a statement and said that “Following the positive case, the remaining players underwent new tests this morning, all with a negative result, and are available to Fernando Santos for training this afternoon, in Cidade do Futebol”.
Cristiano Ronaldo will not face Sweden on Wednesday in Lisbon due to this last-minute development, and he will also not feature in Juventus’ upcoming matches in Serie A and the Champions League group game against Dynamo Kyiv.
However, the 35-year-old, who earlier revealed that the 2022 World Cup will be his last international tournament, is said to be “doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation” from the Portuguese Football Federation (PFF).
