New data issued by Our World in Data regarding the amount of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered per 100 people in the European Union, show that Malta is leading the way with more than 11 doses per 100 people, followed by Denmark and Cyprus.
Our World in Data calculates this statistic as single doses, and on their site they state that this may not equal the number of people vaccinated, depending on the specific dose regime. For example Malta is vaccinating people with the second dose within three weeks of the first dose, while other countries such as the UK, are vaccinating people with their second dose over the span of three months.
Sharing the latest data on his social media, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that all the healthcare workers who are vaccinating the people of Malta and Gozo as part of the National Vaccination Programme are doing priceless work, whilst thanking them on behalf of the people of Malta and Gozo!
If you had to look at the situation worldwide, Malta is among the Top 10 countries administering the vaccine, with Gibraltar, Israel, the UAE and the UK in the top spots.
