COVID-19 School Protocols Will Be Announced in the Coming Hours

Taking questions from the media after addressing the Malta Chamber, Prime Minister Robert Abela said that an announcement by the Superintendent of Public Health, Professor Charmaine Gauci about the reopening of schools and the protocols that will be tied to this, is to be made “in the coming hours”.

The Prime Minister said that this decision is one that should be taken from a health aspect, and that we should wait for the health authorities to formally announce these protocols, so as to iron out any grey areas.

This comes as Minister for Education Owen Bonnici had, earlier this year, announced that schools in Malta and Gozo are set to resume as planned, on the 28th September.
