Coronavirus in Numbers: This is How Well Malta Is Doing Compared To Other EU Countries

A quick visit to the Worldometer Coronavirus Page shows us just how well Malta is faring in the European Union, when it comes to the COVID-19 Situation.

Active Cases

Malta is the EU country with the least Active Cases, currently standing at 11. It is closely followed by Iceland at 16, and Estonia at 50!

Looking at the whole continent, Monaco, Gibraltar, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Faroe Islands and San Marino have less active cases than Malta, but their population is considerably less too.

Again, Malta is the EU Country with the least Deaths at 9, followed again by Iceland at 10.

Tests/1M Population

Malta is the third-most country in the EU which has carried out swab tests per 1M population, after Iceland and Luxembourg.

Looking at the global picture, Malta is among the top 10 countries which have carried out the most swab-tests per 1M Population, with the majority of the Top 10 Countries, having a smaller population when compared to Malta.

What does this tell us? It tells us that all in all, we have all managed to successfully overcome the worst of this pandemic, however, we still have a part to play in maintaining social distancing, wearing protective masks, and taking care of our personal hygiene, now…and always!
