Malta is famous for lots of things – food, culture, friendliness, history – the list goes on.
But one thing it doesn’t get enough credit for is its love of colour.
Traditional Maltese fishing boats are some of the most colourful in the world, featuring huge streaks of blue, red, yellow and green.
You just have to pop down to the beautiful harbours in Marsaxlokk, St Paul’s Bay or Marsalforn to see what we mean.
But now one local council has decided to go a step further.
St Julian’s has started painting its public benches in the style of Maltese boats.
The first to be given the radical makeover have appeared next to Spinola Bay.
They even feature a cute little eye, just like Maltese fishing boats.
