Clint Camilleri ‘honoured’ to be new Minister for Gozo

Clint Camilleri has been named as the new Minister for Gozo.

The 29-year-old MP replaces Justyne Caruana who was forced to resign on Sunday night.

She stepped down following newspaper claims about her husband’s friendship with the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Mr Camilleri said he was ‘honoured’ to serve as Minister for Gozo.

He posted on Facebook: ‘I welcome the responsibility of my new role and am determined to work for the good of each and every one of you and for the benefit of the Gozo that we all cherish.’

Mr Camilleri is one of the youngest members of Prime Minister Robert Abela’s new Cabinet.

He is an architect and civil engineer by profession and studied at the University of Malta and the University of Kentucky.

He was previously the mayor of Qala before being elected to Parliament in 2017.

The new Gozo minister is married to Deborah and the couple have a five-month-old daughter.
