The festive season gets well and truly underway this weekend in Gozo.
Christmas decorations and lights have already started springing up across the island, signalling the start of everybody’s favourite time of the year.
Gozo’s spectacular festive celebrations will be launched on Saturday evening with the switching on of the Christmas lights in the heart of Victoria.
Here’s everything you need to know:
When is it?
‘It’s Christmas Time’ will be held on Saturday 30 November from 8pm in Independence Square in Victoria.
The event is organised by the Ministry for Gozo.
What can we expect?
Traditional Christmas carols performed by a number of children’s choirs, including Saint Anthony of Padova Choir, Aurora Youth Choir, Chorus Urbanus Junior, Schola Cantorum Jubilate Children’s Choir and Santa Clara Choir.
This will be followed by a spectacular 3D mapping show set against the iconic Banca Giuratale which will set off the Christmas lights in Victoria.
At the end of the show, there’ll be free mulled wine, hot chocolate and traditonal Christmas delicacies.
What are the organisers saying?
‘Gozo’s Christmas programme is a tribute to all those organisations who tirelessly work towards cultural activities all year round, especially in Christmas.’
Does it cost anything to attend?
There is no entrance fee, but you might want to take a bit of cash with you to splash on some festive goodies.
