Christmas Bucket List: 6 Local Festive Events To Visit This Month


Christmas is just around the corner and here are some festive events to tick off your bucket list this Christmas!


Make the most of your holiday season with our list to have the best Christmas this year. Beyond doubt the holidays are a special time for everyone to celebrate with your loved ones.


Christmas bucket list:


1. The Magical Illuminated Trail


The Magical Illuminated Trail Walk Thru Edition will take place at the magnificent Verdala Palace, Buskett between 3rd December and 9th January. There will be new lantern illuminated sculptures, light installations, projections and so much more. The event will be held in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation. 2. Carols under the stars at Naxxar


If you love Christmas carols this event is definitely for you!


There will be carol singing by various singers, bands and choirs. It will be held in front of Santa Marija tax-Xagħra Chapel in San Pawl tat-Tarġa, Naxxar at 18:00 – 22:00.

27th Dec: Steve Cortis, Sarah Vella, Andrew Fiorini Lowell, Francesco Tanti, Francesca Baldacchino, Andrew Mizzi, Vince Fabri, EnKor. Spectacular projections displayed on the chapel facade back dropping the performers.

  • 4.1 Surround Live Sound will put the audience in the centre of the amazing choirs and performers.
  • Entrance is free but donations will be collected in aid of Dar tal-Providenza.
  • Entry will be refused if patrons are visibly unwell.
  • Patrons are subject to temperature checks at the entrance for the presence of fever (persons with temperature of 37.2 Celsius or higher will be denied entrance).
  • Adequate hand sanitisers at the entrance.
  • Patrons are to sanitise their hands prior to entrance.
  • Patrons must wear masks or visors at all times.
  • Audiences are encouraged to maintain social distancing of at least 2 metres from other individuals/groups.


3. Fairyland


Fairyland is back with a bang at the Pjazza Tritoni also known as Santa’s City in Valletta/Floriana. This started on the 3rd of December and will continue till the 2nd January.



It is available for both children and adults as the saying goes “Darbtejn insiru tfal”. There will be many activities one can do such as the Magical Carousel, Penguin’s Ice Skating Rink, Elfie FC (football), Snowball Hoops, Elf’s Airport, Shoot ‘Em Up Immersive VR, Virtual Polar Saber, Santa’s Grotto, Hook the Duck, and Rudolph’s Wheel!

4. Valletta Waterfront Christmas Wonderland


The promenade has been filled with many Christmas decorations to get you in the Christmas Spirit!


Make sure to take a picture with the 35-foot Christmas tree. There will be a Santa’s house with a
garden and a workshop, a traditional Maltese crib and much more. There will also be Christmas
holiday goodies such as mince pies, honey rings and mulled wine.



5. Christmas with André


Join André Rieu also known as the ‘King of Waltz’, the Dutch violinist for his amazing Christmas
concert from the comfort of Eden Cinemas at St. Julian’s.
