From the twinkling lights of Victoria to the beautifully floodlit Citadel, Gozo is a wonderful place to enjoy during the festive season.
Gozo plays host to the most popular Christmas event in the Maltese Islands, the live nativity scene in Għajnsielem.
This year’s festive activities in Gozo are bigger and brighter than ever before with celebrations expanding across the island.
For example, the Villa Rundle Gardens in Victoria have been transformed into a winter wonderland to help visitors get into the Christmas spirit.
As dusk falls, a Christmas path lights up leading to Santa’s hut at the site of the garden’s amphitheatre.
This Christmas path was created the residents of Santa Marta Day Centre and Dar Padova, the primary schools of the Gozo College and workers at the Ministry for Gozo.
Most of the decorations have been created using recycled materials.
The attraction is just part of a vast programme that was prepared for this festive season on Gozo.
Gozo’s Christmas festivities includes various spiritual, cultural and fun filled activities for all the family.
You can roam around the nativity village at ‘Betlehem f’Għajnsielem’, be lulled by the beautiful choir voices taking part in Gozo’s second international choir festival, or enjoy the magnificent Christmas Parade along Victoria’s main streets.
