CCTV appeal following jewellery shop robbery in Sliema

A CCTV appeal has been issued following a robbery in Sliema.

Police said three men burst into a jewellery shop in Bisazza Street at about 3.45 pm on Tuesday afternoon.

They pushed the 31-year-old woman cashier to the ground and smashed a number of glass display units containing rings, watches, bracelets and other valuables.

The men fled the shop, Classic Jewellers, with a large haul however the exact value of the theft has not been made public.


The company’s chief executive Karl Micallef said the robbers ‘knew what they were doing because they took the most expensive jewellery’.

Bisazza Street is a busy pedestrianised shopping area in the heart of Sliema.

A police source told 89.7 Bay: ‘We are eager to talk to the men in these images in connection with this incident and would urge anyone who may recognise them to get in touch as soon as possible.’
