Netflix has just dropped the trailer for The Prome, and as you would expect from any movie version of a Broadway show – it’s full of Zazz – and it features Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, The Book of Mormon’s Andrew Rannells and Jo Ellen Pellman!
This film adaptation of the Tony-nominated musical will be available for streaming on 11th December. Directed by Ryan Murphy, this movie sees Meryl Streep in the role of Dee Dee Allen, Nicole Kidman as Angie Dickinson, James Corden as Barry Glickman and Kevin Chamberlin as Shelon Saperstein.
With a book by Chad Beguelin and Bob Martin and a score by Beguelin and Matthew Sklar, the movie tells the story of a high schooler from Indiana who is barred from bringing her girlfriend to the prom – together with a group of eccentric Broadway fold, who infiltrate the town to fight the injustice.
Originally The Prom opened on Broadway at the Longacre in November 2018, earning a whooping seven Tony nominations.
