A British couple who were mugged in a quiet Gozo village have praised the police for the professionalism.
Deborah Aitkenhead, 55, and Michael Bradshaw, 58, were robbed and assaulted by a thug as they walked home at night in Xaghra on September 22.
Police arrested their attacker within hours after searching CCTV footage from Xaghra Square.
Two days later he was sentenced to five years in prison by the court in Victoria.
Mr Dreadshaw, from Preston in Lancashire, messaged the police in Gozo to thank them for their excellent work.
