Queen Elizabeth has been confirmed to have passed away at Balmoral at the age of 96, on september 8th, 2022.

 

The Queen is believed to have died after concerns grew about her health.

 

 

She was first taken for medical observation at Balmoral earlier in the day.

The Royal family made their way throughout the rest of the day. The Duke of Cambridge, Duke of York and Countess of Wessex were amongst the first to make it to Balmoral this evening.

 

 

This marks an end to her unprecidented reign of over 70 years, she is the only monarch in British history to reign for 70 years and celebrate a platinum jubilee.

 

What happens next?

When the Queen dies, Prince Charles will become King by default. In order to mark The Queen’s death, the flags will be lowered and the cannons will be fired. Follwoing that the prime minister will hold her first audience with the new king.
