Police searching for missing British teenager Nora Quoirin in Malaysia have found a body.

Two forensics vans and other police cars were entering the jungle area, which was sealed off.

The discovery came on the tenth day of an intensive search for the missing 15-year-old.

An officer told  The Mirror : ‘We have found a body, but we need to confirm it is her.

‘Please be patient. We will let you know as soon as it’s confirmed.’

Nora, who has a learning disability, went missing from her bedroom at the Dusun resort in southern Negeri Sembilan state on August 4 in what her parents had believed was an abduction.

Her parents, Meabh and Sebastien Quoirin, said the youngster was ‘so precious to us’ and said their ‘hearts are breaking.’

Speaking on Sunday, Nora’s mother Maebh spoke of her gratitude to the police search teams.

She said: ‘We see you working so hard and also praying with us and being with us.’

A fundraising page set up by members of her extended family raised more than £100,000 in an effort the find the teenager.

The fundraiser came as an emergency hotline was set up to gather intelligence on the whereabouts of Nora.

A week after her disappearance, officers from London’s Metropolitan Police joined search teams in Malaysia to find the teenager.
