Best Friends Remain Inseparable 80 Years Later

They say that some friendships endure a lifetime — just look at this squad!

Back in 1935, Pamela Wright, Mary Betteridge, Freda Jackson, and Elsie Marsay met at school and the unique friendship started to flourish!

The grandmothers, all of whom are now 89 and widowed, get together for lunch on a regular basis and gossip for hours on the phone every day.

They have attended each other’s weddings, vacationed together, and have met their respective great-grandchildren.

They were all born and reared in the Victorian coastal town of Swanage, Dorset, and attribute their friendship’s durability to ‘plenty of laughing.’

The trio had many childhood adventures, including treks to local sea caverns where they witnessed donkeys lugging stones.

Moreover, the group has been a source of moral support following the loss of their husbands.
