Given that Miller spends a lot of time in the studio, working constantly on new material, Jake asked for his two cents on whether or not local artists are appreciated enough. The rapper shared, ‘I don’t think so no, but you know, I’m still going, I’m still doing my thing and it’s not going to stop.’

‘But I do feel like there’s a lot of hard work that goes into music and art, and people are just not getting the recognition they deserve and need – and then something really dumb will go online like on TikTok, and it blows up’, he added. And let’s face it, can’t argue there…

Miller then opened up about his style of rap and shared that he was heavily influenced by Eminem when he was 7 years old. When he moved to the US at 10 years old, he started writing rap and hip-hop music, sharing, ‘so I was always on that line, but then I obviously started experimenting more with singing and such’.

Understandably and undoubtedly, Jake then had to face the elephant in the room and ask about any upcoming collabs with local artists… Miller explained that he only collaborates when the time is right, and when there’s good chemistry in the studio with the right artist.

But he also let us in on some upcoming collaborations that are yet to be finalised, including collabs with Kevin and Chris Birrd! He also reassured us that, ‘Whatever you do, people are going to talk, and that’s something I had to teach myself. If you want to be out there, you need to accept it’.

Miller also argued that the local industry should introduce a platform to give local artists some exposure, explaining: ‘I do feel like something should happen where people are given more exposure, at least those people who put in so much work for little recognition.’.
