An expecting mother in Malta who tested positive for the Corona Virus has given birth, but the baby has tested negative for the virus.
Doctor Frank Portelli, who has recently lost his sister due to the virus itself, confirmed this on socials earlier today.
This confirms what health experts have been saying, that an unborn child in their mother’s womb does not necessarily contract the virus, if the mother tests positive. There’s more danger in the fever that accompanies it, than the virus itself.
In cases where the mother is testes positive for the virus, as soon as the baby is born, the mother and child are separated immediately to avoid risks of the baby contracting the virus.
