Artist remodels Malta’s landmarks using clever cutouts

Creative artist Rich McCor, aka Paperboyo, uses cut-out paper to meticulously and cleverly alter landscapes, buildings and monuments.

He then posts the result for his 448K followers to see on Instagram.

In his 5 years on Instagram, he has worked on countless wonders from places around the world- including London, Paris, New Zealand and Los Angeles.

This is not the first time he’s been in Malta- you may remember some of his work back in 2015, such as when he turned an ordinary cliff in Gozo into The Lion King’s Pride Rock:

Or when a peeping cat appeared through the Azure Window, a post he re-shared when the iconic rock fell back in March 2017.

"Aww, look at that cute cat in the (Azure) window". This is the highlight of Gozo, a natural wonder formed when two limestone sea caves collapsed. If you recognise it, it might be because it was used as the setting of Daenerys Targaryens’ wedding to Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones. If you’re looking for a place to get married, weddings are allowed here (but perhaps hold back on the hundreds of horses, weapons and fighting though) #azurewindow #gozo #malta #gameofthrones #khaldrogo #Daenerystargaryen #GeorgeRRMartin #HBO #Cat #kitten #cats #wedding #naturalwonder #bride #visitgozo #lovemalta #maltaphotography #visitmalta #instamalta #igersmalta #wanderlust #travel #adventure #passionpassport #travelandlife #intrepidtravel #bestintravel #holiday #vacation #sea

Well, earlier this month he decided to pay Malta another visit and this is what he’s been up to this time round:

Firing canons in Valletta:

Sawing his way through rocks opposite the Blue Lagoon:

AD| Comino's Blue Lagoon is entirely natural but if you asked someone to design the perfect swimming spot, I think they'd come up with something like this. The secluded lagoon is nestled away behind various rock formations, one of which has a distinctive carved out window that provides a view of the open sea beyond but also a re-assuring guard from the waves. The shallow waters transition through various shades of blue but wherever you choose to dip your toes in, the water is perfectly clear. The equally beautiful Gozo is just a short boat trip away (or you can take a ferry if coming from Malta). Gozo is another island full of wonders too, some natural and some man-made. Swipe through the carousel for a few of Gozo's highlights and delve into my stories for even more @visitmaltauk #VisitMalta #Comino #Gozo

And using our parliament to create a game of Minesweeper:

Impressive stuff!

He said he will definitely be back so which landscapes should he target next?
