Ariana Grande has overtaken Selena Gomez to become the most followed woman on Instagram.
The 89.7 Bay favourite – who was recently announced as the headline act for Manchester Pride – edged in front of her rival as she reached 146.3 million followers, with Gomez languishing behind with 146.2 million.
Ariana, 25, is still some way behind the site’s most followed star Cristiano Ronaldo who has 155.9 million fans.
She also has a massive Twitter following of 61.1million, which she often interacts with about new music and upcoming tours.
Ariana said that she is ‘thrilled’ to be returning to Manchester to headline this year’s Pride festival.
She will top the bill at the annual LGBT+ event in August, two years after a terror attack that killed 22 at the end of her show in the city.
Children were among those who died in the tragedy and hundreds more were injured after a bomb was detonated at the entrance to the Manchester Arena in May 2017.
Ariana returned to the city just over a week later to perform at the One Love Manchester concert which she organised to raise money for victims’ families and survivors of the attack.
