Another 3 Game Of Thrones Prequels Are Allegedly In The Works

Nearly two years have passed since Game of Thrones came to an end in 2019 (sadly)… but luckily for us, HBO has a handful of spin-offs in development, and it looks like three more have been added to the list!

Game Of Thrones': By The Numbers

Basically, HBO are working on three new prequel ideas – 9 Voyages aka Sea Snake, Flea Bottom, and 10,000 Ships. Hmm. Consider us captivated…

At present and according to Deadline, 9 Voyages remains the furthers along in terms of development, having a team working on it – including George R.R. Martin and The Mentalist creator and Gotham producer Bruno Heller.

The title refers to the long voyages at sea aboard the Sea Snake ship made by Lord Corlys Velaryon and later, Lord Alyn Velaryon, his grandson. Many ships had sailed as far as Qarth to trade spices and silk, but Coryls dared to go farther, reaching Yi Ti and Leng, whose wealth doubled his.

Elsewhere, there are also 10,000 Ships, which relates to the journey made by warrior queen Princess Nymeria and Rhoynar, after their defeat by the Valyrian Freehold in the Second Spice War. This migration occurred a thousand years before the start of A Song of Ice and Fire.

Lastly, Flea Bottom – which is featured in GOT – is the most downtrodden part of King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Poverty prevails here, including peculiar characters like Ser Duncan the Tall, Lord Davos Seaworth, and future Hand of King Stannis Baratheon.

Meanwhile, cameras are already set to roll on another discussed prequel, House of the Dragon. As for these three prequels, it’s unlikely that all will become TV shows, but HBO remains keen on expanding the GOT universe, even an animated spin-off is being planned!
