AC Milan may possibly set up camp in Malta after this Christmas

The Malta Football Association is currently in contact with football giants AC Milan to bring the team to Malta for a short training camp right after Christmas this year.

The dates are not yet confirmed, and plans are still under negotiation, however, sources close to the football club have stated that ‘negotiations for after Christmas are in an advanced stage.’

The man behind all of this is Milan coach Stefano Pioli, who last year brought his then club Fiorentina for a visit, also during the Christmas break. Pioli took over Milan’s reins when Marco Giampaolo was let go last month.

This won’t be the first time that the Italian giants are visiting are island for a training camp. They were in Malta in 2007, and a mere few months after, they won the UEFA Champions League trophy when they played in the final against Liverpool.

Juventes, Inter, Parma, Torina, Catania, Liverpool and Manchester United are also teams that Malta has attracted to its shores due to the great weather we have in December and January.

If the visit does happen, there is also a possibility that Milan would play a friendly game against a Maltese premier league side
