Local singer and presenter Enzo Gusman aged 74 passed away a few days ago in his home.
His wife Carmen announced his death on social media saying “our beloved left his long suffering behind to join the risen Lord where he will suffer no more. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his family whom he loved so dearly.”
Enzo Gusman started his career in the entertainment and performance industry from a young age. Throughout his singing career, Gusman mostly sang romantic ballads, but also tackled some pop songs and opera. ‘Fil-Pjazza tar-Raħal’ and ‘Inħossni Kburi Bik’ are just two of the most classic songs he released.
The much-loved presenter started his career as a broadcaster in 1969 and presented both Maltese and Canadian radio shows. He was also one of the first 89.7 Bay presenters when the radio station opened in 1992. In fact, Enzo Gusman was the first person to present the drive time show and was on Bay’s first line up. On air, he showed his passion for the Maltese language and often shared it with other broadcasters by encouraging them to hold high standards of spoken Maltese.
Rest in peace Enzo!
