A Step Closer to the Big Screen – Jurassic World: Dominion Finishes Filming

Even through the obstacles brought about by the pandemic, Jurassic World: Dominion has wrapped!

Director of the film Colin Trevorrow expressed the bitter-sweet reality of wrapping a film; it’s great that they can start editing, but it sucks that you have to say goodbye to all the people you’ve been working with for the 18 months it took to film it.

Wrap on Jurassic World Dominion. Always hard to say goodbye to family.

Now you may be thinking that this is just another blockbuster Jurassic Park/World movie, but don’t you go forgetting that this one has our little island in it!

I can’t believe you’ve already forgotten! The Jurassic team were in Malta earlier this year to make sure that Valletta was 100% inaccessible, but I’m going to be honest I think they’re going to make it worth our while!

Daniel and Ylenia interviewed the Maltese Film Commissioner Johann Grech in August when he visited their studios, and during that interview, it was revealed that Malta will actually be referred to by name in the film!

In case you missed it, here is the clip from August, and there’s also a little bit of Dino Dave mixed in too:

Isn’t that crazy? It’s not the first time Malta has been mentioned in big productions, but this is a pretty big deal!

Now everyone was disappointed that Chris Pratt didn’t come to Malta, but at least we get to look forward to seeing the stellar cast from the original Jurassic Park films join with the fresh cast from the Jurassic World films to create this huge blockbuster!

I mean they go the OGs; Laura Dern will come back as Dr. Ellie Satler, Sam Neill will return as Dr. Alan Grant and Jeff Goldblum will step right back into the shoes of Dr. Ian Malcolm. Mixed in with the original trio will be Chris Pratt returning as Owen Grady, and Bryce Dallas Howard will take back her role as Claire Dearing.

Although the movie is planned to hit the screen all the way in 2022, this will give us enough time to forget about the movie and get excited all over again in two years! And just as a little support, Chris Pratt mentioned that the movie will be worth the wait, so I hope you’re right Pratt!
