Water Services Corporation to open doors to public

Malta’s Water Services Corporation is opening its doors later this month.

The company is holding its annual open day on Sunday 25 March to celebrate World Water Day.

The event at WSC’s head offices on Qormi Road in Luqa, will include guided tours of the premises and activities for all the family.

A spokesman for the Water Services Corporation told 89.7 Bay: ‘This year’s theme, Nature for Water, explores how we can use nature to overcome the water challenges of the 21st century.

‘Through the various EU-funded projects currently underway, the WSC is using technology to restore the natural underground aquifer and revitalise the agriculture sector in Malta.

‘This event is an excellent opportunity to learn details of a number of large EU-funded projects, amounting to around €100 million.

‘These will increase the quality and taste of Malta’s drinking water and help protect the environment through better efficiency.’

The event, from 10am to 5pm, will include:

• Children’s activities and attractions such as games, bouncy castles and slides
• A DJ stand
• Food stalls
• Tours around the WSC premises
