15-Year Old Weightlifter Writes History In the IWF Youth World Cup


Meet Tenishia Thornton. At Just 15 years of age, Tenishia has managed to write history yesterday, when she participated in the IWF Youth World Cup, which had to be held online due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.



Tenishia Thornton, who competed in the 49kg category finished with a silver medal in the snatch with her 71kg attempt, bronze medal in the Clean and Jerk with her 84kg attempt, and bronze medal for her 155kg total.



This medal means huge success for the MWA. Thornton is now considered a world-class athlete, and despite the numerous amount of cancelled or postponed events this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, she has managed to showcase her continuous hard work in a spectacular manner.

On her Facebook page, Tenishia said that she is super proud of the result, and she thanked her coach and all her family for all the support and dedication which they put in seeing her train and compete!
