The world is mourning an internet legend.
Grumpy Cat, the feline whose dour expression launched countless memes, died from complications related to a urinary tract infection.
She was 7 years old.
Grumpy, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, first rose to internet glory in 2012.
Tabatha, Bryan and Chrytal, the pet’s owners, said that she made ‘millions of people smile around the world – even when times were tough’.
The famous feline, who had more than 2.4 million followers on Instagram and 1.5 million followers on Twitter, passed away ‘at home in the arms of her mummy, Tabatha’.
Legions of fans paid tribute to her online by sharing their favourite Grumpy Cat memes.
